11 Weeks pregnant.

About baby this week:

Measuring from the crown of his head to his rump, your baby is now about 4cm long. He has all his parts, from tooth buds to toenails and his fingers and toes have fully separated. Your baby is busy kicking and stretching. His movements are so fluid they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as his body grows and becomes more refined.

Most of your baby’s critical development will tail off in the next couple of weeks. His main task during the next six months will be to grow larger and stronger, until he can survive on his own outside your uterus (womb).

You’re getting close to the end of the first trimester. A dark vertical line of pigmentation, called the linea nigra, may appear on your belly. Perhaps you are starting to find sleeping difficult?

You’ll be experiencing so many new physical sensations now that you’re pregnant, some of them less welcome than others. If you’ve noticed that you’re leaking wee when you sneeze or laugh, try not to worry. This leaking is called stress incontinence and it’s common during pregnancy.

As soon as you become pregnant, hormones cause your pelvic floor tissues and muscles to stretch. This can lead to weakness in the sphincter muscles that control the release of wee from your bladder.

When you laugh, cough, sneeze or run, the pressure inside your tummy and around your bladder increases. This pressure squeezes your bladder. Normally, your pelvic floor muscles help to close off the bottom of your bladder. If these muscles are weak or can’t squeeze fully, they can’t do this job.

10 Weeks pregnant.

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted anything for a little while, I had to have another scan yesterday due to more bleeding, thankfully everything is fine and the baby has grown loads!

We got the date through for our 12 weeks scan, the 10th of March, only a two week wait and we get to see little one again. It seems like it has flown by since we found out we are pregnant, I am loving every minute so far.

About baby this week:

Your baby is now officially a fetus! She’s poised for growth and will more than double in size in the next three weeks. Your baby is now swallowing and kicking, and all her major organs are fully developed. More minute details are appearing too, such as fingernails and a little fuzz of hair on her head.

Your baby’s sex organs are beginning to show. At your dating scan, which should happen soon, you may be able to tell whether you’re going to have a boy or a girl.

And it’s not just your baby who’s growing. Your uterus (womb) is now the size of a grapefruit. You may even be able to feel it above the middle of your pubic bone.

9 Weeks pregnant.

I have found that I am loving reading about how big the baby is getting and what size it is. I never did this with my son since my pregnancy seemed to have flown by before I knew it.

Most of my symptoms have disappeared atm, I get the odd sore breasts (sorry tmi), cramps, fatigue and headaches. I got quite concerned about this until read that other people have also had this, I just think I am a natural worrier (like my husband always says lol).

About baby this week:

Your baby weighs less than 10g but is poised for rapid growth. All his body parts are now present, including his arms, legs, eyes, genitals and other organs, though they’re not yet fully formed. The placenta is fully functioning, making nutrients for your baby and getting rid of his waste products.
